MISSION

Welcome!

In the United States, 20.8 million children and adults have diabetes.  Of those, approximately 14.6 million have been diagnosed while the remaining 6.2 million are unaware that they have the disease.  Early diagnosis and treatment can help to prevent and control complications associated with diabetes.  While there are two main types of diabetes: Type 1 Diabetes (previously known as insulin-dependent diabetes or juvenile-onset diabetes) and Type 2 Diabetes, this site will focus strictly on Type 1 Diabetes.
